On the Track
After signing a comprehensive waiver, we were allowed to take the car onto the track. Our little convertible Mini was definitely one of the nicer cars there. It was rather amusing to see all kinds of ordinary sedans and SUVs out there taking a lap. Unfortunately, there is a 30mph speed limit, and if you're REALLY unlucky, you get behind several yahoos that think that means take your foot off the gas and make the transmission pull the car around. Really, really slow. But interesting. It's difficult to grasp the steepness of the slopes until you are actually ON the track. Then think about the constant banking, turns, and straightaways, all at 220+ mph, and it's a bit overwhelming.
